Our Neighborhood Park is Open!!!
We've had our first few events on the new greenspace we've created where the fire blazed a few years ago. We had all sorts of Potter Street Camp activities on this new space. We've had potlucks and water wars; we've had drum circles and puppet shows, sang songs and shared communion -- all on this new sacred space. Thanks to all of you who have helped create the park. Every weekday morning we gather for prayer. All are welcome. If you are thinking about coming, let us know ahead of time that you are coming by calling the office or contacting at least one week in advance Kristen. Please note that during the month of September that we will not be gathering.

If you’re interested in seeing some were greeted by the kids in the neighborhood, consider attending the art opening during the month of September.
Donate: As you may know, there are 3 kids on Simple Way Scholarships to Eastern University.

We are forever grateful to Anne Walters and Vince Dorazio (and Carlos!) for helping create and design the new park (and for all our friends and neighbors who have helped build it!). And we are so thankful for Dominic Ferri for being our master gardener and caretaker of this new space.
Donate: Food, Gift Cards for groceries, or Money for food
We still have about 70 families who come regularly to get food. Sometimes we forget to mention the routine things we do every month -- thanks for helping be the hands of provision for "this day our daily bread" for families here in the neighborhood. Every run we make to the food bank we get about 500 pounds of food. That's a lot of grub, thanks for making it happen.
Donate: Plants, Supplies, and Money
We need your help to complete a green space for our neighbors on the properties which burned down in the fire two years ago. Daffodils cost $1 and trees cost $400 so every bit helps and goes directly toward plotting goodness (literally).
Donate: One Million Dollars
We're looking for one million dollars to buy the porn shops in our neighborhood. Over and over folks are abused and shooting each other outside the bar and adult bookstores. We'd love to give the owners an offer they can't refuse, and a legal agreement not to reopen. Hey, we had a friend that did it... it's worth a shot. We'll turn that porn shop into a red tent revival.
09.01.10 + Our hearts and bellies are grateful for the ice cream lovin' we got this summer. Our friend, Ben Cohen (co-counder of Ben and Jerry's ice cream) donated several hundred ice creams for Potter Street Camp. Thanks Molly for helping make it all happen!
