thanks
for being interested in our trip. This time on the road (from June '03
to May '04) we are calling our sabbatical. We have lived in the simple
way community for over 4 years as a married couple, and they have been
amazing years of learning and growth. We felt like it would be a good
time to take a break, re-evaluate, talk about family and future, visit
friends and other communities and spend some time learning to live with
just us. So we bought a small Toyota motorhome and are heading out across
the country. We are hoping to be spontaneous in our planning, so we don't
have a solid route with times and dates, but we have a general idea of
which directions we are headed. If you would like to hang out with us
during our travels (or just to chat), please call us on the telly: 215-850-0621.
We will do our best to fit you into our route.
Our trip is done now (as of June 1, 2004). We had an amazing time. Thanks
to all who helped make it possible.

Latest
news: We're back in Philly! The trip has come to an end and we
are just so grateful to everyone who hosted us, to all we saw,
met, encountered along the way. Now comes the difficult process
of coming back into our communal life, trying to share what we've
learned and hold on to what we found that was sacred. We learned
a lot about each other, our marriage, community, love, hosting
and being a guest. We are going to put out a "report"
of our trip, if you are interested in receiving it, e-mail us
at mike(at)thesimpleway.org.
Also e-mail if you are setting out across the country and need
some pointers/contacts. Thank you again to all who walked with
us during the journey.
Our "itinerary":
Check out where we went and how it compared to where we thought
we were going to go. Our itinerary changed almost daily, but we
were confident that we would wind up where we needed to be, even
if it meant freezing in the RV. click
